Gods & Monsters, at its very heart, is inarguably influenced by The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The few gameplay screenshots shared of Gods & Monsters show a beautiful, green open world colored with a bright, painterly style. Its gameplay is described as a mix of puzzling trials, treacherous dungeons, and legendary quests. In Hyrule’s place, Gods & Monsters will be set upon The Isle of the Blessed. But that feeling of adventure and excitement is clear to be much the same.

Players will be tasked with helping the Greek gods regain the throne of Olympus, having been thrown down by the deadliest of all monsters, Typhon. Taking on the role of the forgotten hero Fenyx, the player will need the gods’ help and more to overcome the tasks before them. Fenyx will be empowered with the gods’ divine powers, with which they’ll be tasked to fight a range of mythical monsters including gorgons, harpies, and cyclopes. Who knows what else awaits on the Isle of the Blessed?

In addition to confirming that Gods & Monsters will be released on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One, Ubisoft also confirmed that the game will be available on Ubisoft’s supported streaming services. Those services include Google Stadia and Ubisoft’s own newly announced subscription service, Uplay+.

Expect more information on Gods & Monsters throughout E3 2019, as well as into the upcoming weeks and months. With such a near launch, there’s clearly much left of  Ubisoft’s new IP to be shared in the time left remaining.

Gods & Monsters releases February 25, 2020 on Nintendo Switch, PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
