Gna is introduced as the Queen of Valkyries and the Vanir goddess of Wind and Fullness, who used to be Freya’s handmaiden. The Gna boss fight is regarded as the most challenging battle in God of War Ragnarok, mainly because of her deadly close combat and AoE attacks. Moreover, she uses her wings elegantly to evade most of the oncoming attacks from Kratos. As a result, many God of War Ragnarok fans spend countless hours trying to defeat her. Luckily, one gamer has discovered an easy trick to cheese Gna in God of War Ragnarok.

Reddit user johnnybananas334 shared a video on Reddit showing their encounter with Gna, Queen of the Valkyries. The footage shows Gna has nearly half of her total HP remaining, whereas Kratos’s health is almost empty, prompting the user to try more creative methods. Fearing defeat, johnnybananas334 tried a detonating spear attack of the Draupnir Spear. God of War Ragnarok players can use this attack by pressing the triangle button, causing Kratos to through a spear at an enemy that explodes on command. The following sections of the video show how effective the detonating spear attack can be when fighting Gna in God of War Ragnarok.
The user realized that the spear’s first hit deals small damage to Gna, but the subsequent detonation staggers her for a few seconds. When she’s in a staggered pose, johnnybananas334 slams the mighty God of War Ragnarok boss with another thrown spear, causing a double whammy. They don’t allow Gna to recover from this volley of spears and eventually defeat her after roughly two minutes, putting an end to a nail-biting boss fight in God of War Ragnarok.
The Draupnir Spear is introduced in God of War Ragnarok and specifically designed to fight the Aesir. This legendary weapon was forged in Svartalfheim using Odin’s ring, and it can also magically replace itself when thrown on enemies in God of War Ragnarok.
God of War Ragnarok is available now for PS4 and PS5.
