Gamers love almost everything about God of War Ragnarok, but there is one issue that seems to be bugging a lot of them. It is regarding Kratos’s fur cape that can be seen on various posters, as well as the game’s box art and start screen. The God of War Ragnarok community on Reddit is extremely vocal about this matter, as seen by a post by V1V1S3CT10N.

The user shared a post on the God of War subreddit that sparked the discussion. The post is a meme and contains two images; the first one shows the cover art where Kratos is wearing the iconic fur cape, and the second picture is of a frustrated man. The core idea of the meme is to criticize the developers for showing the fur cape and not letting it be a part of Kratos in God of War Ragnarok. Many users pointed out that the cape is present for the first few minutes of the game before it is never seen again in God of War Ragnarok. These fans said that the developers shouldn’t have shown Kratos in a fur cape in the first place if they intended to remove it later.

One informative user who had watched a podcast from a member of Santa Monica Studio’s art direction team put forward a reasonable explanation. They pointed out that Kratos’s cape in God of War Ragnarok was incredibly hard to animate, particularly the parts where he takes out his weapons, which is why the developers removed the fur cape entirely. Meanwhile, one user shared a video of a God of War Ragnarok mod that gives the fur cape to Kratos.

Fans took advantage of V1V1S3CT10N’s and discussed other flaws they don’t like in God of War Ragnarok. As expected, only a few concerns were put forward, but some God of War Ragnarok gamers were disappointed by the lack of a bare-handed skills tree. Unlike its predecessor, God of War Ragnarok has five skill trees overall, two for companions and then three for each of the weapons Kratos ultimately has access to.

God of War Ragnarok is out now for PS4 and PS5.
