God of War was a resounding success for Sony and Santa Monica Studio upon release, selling over three million copies in its first three days on the market, so it only makes sense to capitalize on that. A children’s book may not be what all fans would have expected, particularly one that was described by Tempest as only being kid-friendly “for the most part” in an interview with Polygon, but it certainly looks cute enough for audiences of all ages.

This God of War children’s book is not the only auxiliary piece of media in the works for the PS4 exclusive title. Earlier this year, Dark Horse Comics announced a faithful recreation of Atreus’ journal called God of War: Lore And Legends will also be releasing in September.

Many are still waiting to hear whether a sequel to the successful soft-reboot will be coming anytime soon, as it was one of the biggest PS4 successes missing from Sony’s PlayStation 5 reveal event. That said, a sequel to Horizon: Zero Dawn was announced during the event last month, so there is still hope that Santa Monica Studio will follow suit.

Some fans have been gearing up for that anticipated sequel with related creations of their own. For instance, a Spanish God of War fan-page created a custom PS5 design based on Kratos’ Leviathan Axe and other weapons.

God of War is available now, exclusively for PlayStation 4.
